Entirely redesigned for 2021, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA is the entry-level SUV of the Mercedes-Benz family, but it still offers a host of advanced safety technologies, remarkable comfort, a design that stands out from the crowd, and a level of safety that surpasses its competition. The new GLA impresses in any situation possible, and its 4Matic all-wheel-drive shines when conditions deteriorate.
Offered in three versions, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA impresses with its interesting combination of performance and comfort. It comes standard with a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. With such an efficient gearbox, you get an average fuel consumption rating of just 7.6 litres per 100 kilometres.
That’s not bad for a luxury SUV capable of accommodating over 1,400 litres in its trunk. The redesigned GLA is also more comfortable, refined, and quieter than the previous model.
If you want the versatility and comfort of the GLA with a more polished performance, take a look at the new Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 and Mercedes-AMG GLA 45. Both are entitled to a powerful four-cylinder turbo engine that develops 302 horsepower in the 35 and 382 horsepower in the GLA 45. You will reach 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds in the GLA 45, which is exceptional in this segment. You won't find small luxury SUVs that outperform the AMG GLAs in the segment.
With its MBUX technology that allows easy interaction with the multimedia system and its many safety technologies, the GLA may be the most affordable model in the Mercedes-Benz SUV lineup but it is not without luxury.
